Confidentiality and identity choices
Report Fuel offers three reporting paths through secure.reportfuel.com. The public website and ordinary email do not provide the reporting channel and must not be used for report information, evidence or access codes.
Anonymous reporting
Choose anonymous reporting if you do not want to provide your name or contact details. The portal generates an access code for secure follow-up. Avoid including identifying details in the narrative, filenames, documents or images if you wish to remain anonymous. Anonymous reporting cannot guarantee that identity could never be inferred from the facts, metadata or circumstances described.
Confidential reporting
Choose confidential reporting if you are willing to provide identity or contact details for restricted handling and follow-up. Those details should be accessible only to authorised people with a legitimate need. Confidentiality may be limited by a lawful obligation, urgent safety concern or necessary referral.
Identified reporting
Choose identified reporting if you are comfortable providing your identity and contact details and permit reasonable identification or contact during appropriate follow-up. Identified reporting does not make an allegation public.
Access controls
Access to report content, identity information and attachments is based on role, legitimate need and conflict-of-interest checks. Referral or disclosure decisions should be documented, and conflicts involving FWA leadership, staff, members or service providers must be escalated away from the conflicted person.
Secure follow-up
Keep the portal access code private and store it safely. Report Fuel cannot recover a lost code. Do not send it by email, SMS or an ordinary messaging service.
When confidentiality may be limited
Limited disclosure may be necessary and lawful to address an imminent threat, comply with a binding legal obligation, make a justified referral, obtain confidential professional advice or protect legal rights and system security. Only the information reasonably required should be shared, with the reporter’s identity choice and safety considered.
Retention and security
Reports are configured for automatic deletion after 180 days, subject to a documented lawful exception. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used, but no reporting platform can promise absolute anonymity, confidentiality, immunity from legal process or protection from retaliation in every circumstance.
Reporter safety
Do not use a device, account or network you reasonably believe is monitored if doing so could place you at risk. Do not obtain evidence unlawfully or endanger yourself. Report Fuel does not provide legal advice, and using the service does not automatically create protection under the Protected Disclosures Act.
