Recognising possible signs of adulterated fuel
Unexpected loss of power, abnormal smoke or repeated filter problems may justify professional inspection, but symptoms alone do not prove adulteration.
Stop using the vehicle if unsafe. Keep receipts, record the station and pump, obtain qualified mechanical advice and avoid making public accusations before facts are established.
Before buying from an unfamiliar fuel supplier
Verify the legal entity, relevant petroleum authorisation, supply source, tax documentation and delivery records before transacting.
Check licence claims independently, confirm banking details, inspect delivery documentation and be cautious of pricing materially below credible market levels.
Preserving useful information responsibly
Contemporaneous notes, lawful photographs, invoices, delivery notes, laboratory reports and vehicle details may assist assessment.

Provide accurate information and evidence you already hold lawfully, such as receipts, delivery notes, photographs, vehicle details or laboratory reports. Never trespass, impersonate someone, intercept communications or place yourself in danger.
